Baby #2

We are expecting baby #2!! We haven't shared with most of the family yet so anyone that reads this please don't post anything on my Facebook. Our due date is September 27. I am very nervous about having 2 babies 14 months apart. Our first Dr's. appointment is on February 10 @ 10:30. Joey and I just decided to let nature happen and we would get pregnant when it was meant to be....Well I really didn't thing it would happen the very first month. After 4 years of trying having gastric bypass apparently I am very fertile lol.

We have a trip planned to Arkansas November 9 through the 15 to visit Joey's dad's side of the family. I have only meet his grandparents so it will be very nice to meet everyone else. Oh did I mention the baby will only be about 6 to 8 weeks old. Can you say scary? Traveling with a 14 month old and a brand new baby. Eek!! Good thing we are flying and not driving like Joey's dad likes to do. I don't think I could handle being in a car for 3 days.

Oh the good news get even better my sister is pregnant too!! We are a month apart! Again no one knows so please don't post on hers or my Facebook.

Life is amazing! I can't wait to see what the future holds for us and to watch our little family grow!

Tooth #2

Tooth # 2 came through on January 27. I can't believe how fast she is changing and growing up. On the 28 she turned 6 months old. Where has the time gone...I absolutely love being a mom and being able to stay home with her. We got for her 6 month check up and shots tomorrow February 1. I am going to find out if we can start using sippy cups, giving her water, and all the stuff she can eat now. I will update tomorrow with all her status.

Coast

This past weekend Kayeleigh and I went to the coast with my mom, Les, and Lelend. Joey threw Stuart's bachelor party at our house so I decided to just go away for the weekend. My sister, Gene, and Joey came over on Saturday. We had a blast! I wasn't sure how Kayeleigh would do on a 3 hour car ride but she did great. About 15 minutes outside of Morro Bay she started getting a little crabby but she just wanted out of her car seat which I can't blame her. 3 hours in one of those is a long time.
On Friday we got to the park about 12:30 and got the trailer set up then mom, Kayeleigh, and I went to the grocery store to get everything we needed for the weekend. When we got back we picked up the boys and went to Pismo so I could get a birthday gift at the outlets. By the time we got back to the trailer Kayeleigh and I started making dinner and mom, Les, and Lelend went down to the beach to watch the sunset.
Saturday morning we got up made breakfast and just hung out around the trailer for while. Mom, Lelend, Kayeleigh, and I went for a walk to see if Ken and Debbie had made it and since we knew the fog was really bad around home. After we visit them for a few minutes we walked back to the trailer and Crystal and Gene showed up. They all went to the beach and Kayeleigh and I stayed so she could take a nap. Ken and Debbie came over to our trailer and we all went to dinner at the Dockside. There food is so yummy!! Joey showed up about 6:00 and we went over to Ken and Debbie's trailer for a camp fire. Kayeleigh was ready for bed so we went back to the trailer and just got her and Joey ready for bed. All in all it was a very nice weekend. I can't wait to go back next month with Mark and Darla!

Baby Food

So trying baby food has been a great experience. She hasn't been very picky with trying new things. She now doesn't want to eat her rice cereal. I can't blame her she wants the good stuff. lol I have tried mixing it with the food and she still won't eat it. So far the only one she hasn't cared for much is peas. I can't blame her there that stuff smells nasty! We just tried peaches for the first time and she loved them! I really can't wait to start making her food and trying more new things with her!

5 months

Kayeleigh Bug is now 5 months old and I am not sure where the time has gone! She is such a blast having around! We are now having rice cereal and starting to eat baby food. We try a different one every 3 days. She is also sitting up by herself and wanting to walk. I hope she isn't like her mom and skips the crawling part! Her daddy taught her how to spit when she makes blowing noises. Thank you daddy!

Once she turns 6 months old I will start making my own baby food since she will be eating 3 times a day. as of right now she loves, sweet potatoes, squash, pears, & bananas. She isn't so much into the applesauce or peas. Since we started with baby foods she is boycotting her rice cereal. I am going to try oatmeal in a few days to see if she like that. I think it's the texture she isn't sure about.

I just ordered a cookbook from Williams Sonoma on how to make your own baby food. The books goes by how old baby is and which foods are recommend for her age. I can't wait to get it and try some with her!

Delivery!

From day one of finding out I was pregnant I said I wanted to have a natural no drugs birth. I was set that's how I was going to do it!
On July 24 @ 1:30am I started having contractions that where 2-3 mins apart but not painful. I woke Joey up and told him what I was feeling and he said lets go to the hospital. I got in the shower took my time to see if the contractions would get stronger. I got out of the shower and we where off to the hospital. They checked me in and put the monitors on me and said that I was in active labor. After 2 hours of monitoring and be checked they sent me home. My contractions stopped and I was only 2 centimeters dilated. All weekend long I was having contractions but nothing consistent and nothing painful. Tuesday night around 11:00pm my contractions started up again but this time with some discomfort. Nothing to painful just a little strong then they had been. Again I woke Joey up and got in the shower. Around 1:00am we made it to the hospital with full on contractions with pain. They hooked me up to monitors and again said I was in active labor but I wasn't dilated to a 4 yet. They had me wake for an hour to see if it would be progress me. After that hour they checked me again and said I was at a 4 and my bag was bulging so they admitted me.
At around 8:30am my contractions where so painful I started hyperventilating and could not catch my breath. Joey asked me if I wanted to get the epidural. I thought about it and decided I would so I could enjoy my delivery. After having the epidural done it was like a new world. I could actual have a conversation and just enjoy the moment. My nurse Susan was amazing! She came on her shift at 7:00am and told me I would have my baby by 2:00pm that afternoon. I looked at her like she was crazy but I was game to be Kayeleigh out by 2. She was very attentive to me anytime she would see my contractions slowing down she would up my pitocin and keep me progressing nicely. At around 1:30pm she came in to check me and said I was fully dilated. It was time to push! At 1:59pm Kayeleigh Hazel Fisher was born weight 7lbs 3oz 21inches long! She was absolutely beautiful!

The Beginning!

Thanks to a friend I got the idea to start blogging about my life as a new mommy. I will try and keep on top of this as much as I can. I want to blog about every little thing Kayeleigh does. Life as a new mom is amazing!
3 years ago hubby and I started trying to have a baby. After months of trying and having no luck we went to a fertility doctor to find out what was wrong with us. After months of pills and BIG $$ later the doctor told me it was due to my weight. I was devastated! But at least it was something I could control. So after that I went through the process to have gastric bypass.
On March 26, 2009 I had the surgery! Wow what a fast process that to get the surgery done! I did have self inflicted complications with the surgery. I got dehydrated to the point I went back into the hospital for 3 days to be pumped full of fluids and potassium. As bad as it might sounds I really think I had to go through that process to show myself what this could do to me. After getting out I have been a completely new person! I have now lost 137lbs and have had my first child!
8 months after surgery we found out I was pregnant! Boy was I in shock and scared! I wasn't sure what was going to happen since they strongly recommend you don't get pregnant for at least 1 year after surgery. I went to my bypass doctor and he was ok with it since I had already lost majority of my weight at that point.
On January 6, 2010 we went to my ob for our first ultrasound. I absolutely love my ob doctor and nurse! He sat and talked to me for over an hour just explaining the process and what I had to look forward to through my pregnancy. I have never had a doctor take that much time with me and really make me feel like he cared for my well being.
